CIRCE was invited as coordinator of POWERB4IO to participate in the workshop “H2020 Societal Challenge 2 Calls for proposals 2018 – Coordinators Day” organised by the Research Executive Agency (REA) on 6 June 2019 in Brussels. The event addressed to coordinators of 60 projects within the Societal Challenge 2 (SC2), dealing with food security, sustainable agriculture and forestry, marine and maritime inland water research and the bioeconomy.
Following the overview presentation given by the REA about the SC2 implementation, the projects were presented and gathered in two parallel workshops: “Multi Actor Approach” and “International Cooperation”. The afternoon session followed by several cluster thematic sessions. Namely, POWER4BIO participated in the cluster session “Realising the potential of regional and local bio-based economies” together with the ‘sister’ project BE-rural. Both projects are very complementary and took this opportunity to look for synergies and ways to cooperate to develop joint policy conclusions to be delivered to the Commission (DG AGRI &RTD) related to small-scale business models, relevant for the rural development objectives.
Afterwards, a plenary session took place focused on horizontal aspects related to the projects life cycle, like legal and financial aspects, ethics regulation, reporting as well as communication, dissemination and exploitation of results.
