policy and practiceo

June 26, Brussels, Belgium

On 26 June, ECRN, with the support of Jácinth Horváth (HU/PES), Member of the Committee of the Regions, organises yet another multi-stakeholder event on “Realising the bioeconomy potential in European regions: policy and practice” in the Representation of the Lombardy Region to the EU, Brussels.

At this event, Mr. Jácinth Horváth will present the most recent Opinion of Committee of the Regions on the topic “A sustainable bioeconomy for Europe: strengthening the connection between economy, society and the environment” while inputs from guest speakers from other EU institutions will add to a complete picture of the current Bioeconomy framework on EU level.

Likewise, speakers from different policy and industry domains will present and share their knowledge and experience in 2 following panels. Several policy makers, project leaders, companies and cluster representatives from different geographical locations are invited in order to address the topic in a comprehensive manner and connect sectors and stakeholders. Questions such as how is the bioeconomy unfolding in different regions, what are the specifics and specializations that make the bioeconomy applications suitable for regional industries, and how stakeholders are engaged will be tackled. Industry representatives will then look at how to step up the developments towards bioeconomy – what will be the demand on innovation, funding and governments. The event will contemplate on how the bioeconomy create solutions for both the economy and the environment and how it contributes to regional sustainable growth.
