POWER4BIO presents its first advances at the Plant Based Summit in Lyon
Lyon, 22 May 2019
POWER4BIO was present at the Plant Based Summit last 22 May in Lyon. The conference held its 5th edition dedicated to the development of growing opportunities in the biobased chemical market.
Ignacio Martín (CIRCE), project coordinator, participated in the afternoon session “Bioeconomy strategies: key priorities in Spain, UK, France and the US” representing POWER4BIO.
He introduced the project to the audience, presenting the Key Performance Indicators already selected for evaluating regional bioeconomies, which have been recently published in the public document “D2.2 KPIs to evaluate regional bioeconomies”. These indicators are the basis for POWERB4IO methodology that will guide regional stakeholders in their transition towards bioeconomy strategies in Europe. After its validation in the 10 participant regions, the methodology will be implemented in a software tool, the Bioregional Strategy Accelerator, which will guide the regions through all the steps towards a higher level of development of the bioeconomy. During his intervention, the project coordinator showed the first attempts made towards the development of this tool.
Five additional entities participated in this panel of experts, including the executive Director of the Biobased Industries Consortium, member of the Advisory Board of POWER4BIO, which promotes interregional collaboration and knowledge exchange.
