KETBIO webinar: Integrated production opportunities of Bioenergies and Biobased products
This KETBIO webinar will offer a a general perspective on bioenergies and biofuels, as well as focus on a few specific opportunities to integrally exploit biomass valorizing existing by-products and streams . The webinar agenda is as follows:

Welcome and Introduction
A combined and integrated production of biobased products and bioenergies: from energy valorization of biomass to biofuels, by-products and organic streams. Integrated exploitation of biomass and their offerings of novel biobased products such as biochar, biopesticides and other specialties, will require further technology advancement as well as legislative framework adaptation (e.g., End of Waste Regulation) in order to significantly develop and impact the Bioeconomy markets, as well as new quantitative methodologies to be commonly employed as a standard to objectively estimate the biogenic carbon content of used materials (David Chiaramonti, University of Florence; Polytechnic of Turin).

BIO4A: Advanced Sustainable Biofuels for Aviation
Demonstrating the potential and sustainable industrial use of HEFA as ASTM-certified aviation fuel to be obtained from two sources of residual lipids in Europe: lipid waste streams from production industries and consumption (e.g, Used Cooking Oil) and sustainable virgin lipids from Camelina sativa cultivated in marginal agricultural EU-Med areas using biochar as a soil amendment (Tommaso Barsali, coordinating partner RE-CORD).
