SUMMARY:Webinar: Österreichs Wald auf dem Holzweg? - online
DESCRIPTION:Webinar: Österreichs Wald auf dem Holzweg? \nPlease note that this event will be in German\, no translation will be provided. \nFor more information and registration\, please visit the website of the webinar.

SUMMARY:How your business can find value from food waste streams - online
DESCRIPTION:How your business can find value from food waste streams – online\n\nSeptember 2\, 2020\, online\n\n\n\nHow your business can find value from food waste streams \nIn this workshop you are invited to explore how your business can find new income streams\, cut costs and improve your green credentials by creating value from your food ‘waste’ streams. \nA recent report found that £300\,000 tonnes of food manufacturing waste is discarded in Yorkshire and the Humber each year\, however by reframing/rethinking waste as a resource and with better management and new technologies much of it could be used to make alternative or high value products. Hear from those who have successfully turned waste into value and from those who can offer funded support to help regional businesses to do the same. \nThis event is aimed at small and medium-sized businesses involved in food and drink production and processing\, -including brewers\, fruit preservers and farm shops. \nOrganised by BioVale and the York and North Yorkshire Enterprise Partnership as part of the Circular Yorkshire Initiative. \nFor more information and registration\, please visit the website of the webinar.

SUMMARY:LCIC 2020: Life Cycle Innovation Conference - online
DESCRIPTION:LCIC 2020: Life Cycle Innovation Conference – online\n\nAugust 26 – August 28\, online\n\n\n\nLCIC 2020: Life Cycle Innovation Conference\nOver the past few years\, sustainability has become a mega trend and gained significant traction among decision-makers in industry and politics. With the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)\, the global community has set out a number of important targets to help us achieve a more sustainable world over the next few decades. And while the SDGs are focussed around 17 specific areas\, only a holistic and system-oriented approach will enable us to truly advance on each of these goals. \nDuring the Life Cycle Innovation Conference (LCIC 2020)\, we will take a systems perspective when discussing sustainable innovation. We will look at both\, innovative approaches and methods to address sustainability challenges as well as innovative products and services that will help us transition towards a more sustainable world. \nFor more information and registration\, please visit the webiste of this event.

SUMMARY:Webinar: Will COVID-19 accelerate the digital revolution in agriculture and the bioeconomy? - online
DESCRIPTION:Webinar: Will COVID-19 accelerate the digital revolution in agriculture and the bioeconomy? – online\n\nJuly 31\, 2020\, online\n\n\n\nWebinar Will COVID-19 accelerate the digital revolution in agriculture and the bioeconomy? \nDigital agriculture and e-commerce have been growing in recent years in industrialized as well as developing countries\, but probably not as rapidly as its promoters have suggested. The COVID-19 crisis has now created a new “digital optimism” as digital tools may solve some of the problems that the COVID-19 lock-down measures have created. E-commerce appears promising in strengthening food value chains\, and digital tools may also support on-farm production during the crisis\, e.g.\, by providing online advice and facilitating access to inputs and machinery services. Governments and donors are promoting policies to stimulate the growth of digital agriculture in an effort to “build agriculture back better” and foster climate-smart production as part of a sustainable bioeconomy. Could the COVID-19 pandemic thus accelerate a digital revolution in agriculture and\, more broadly\, the bioeconomy? This is the central question of this webinar\, which will be addressed by distinguished speakers from academia\, the public and the private sector and international organizations.\n\nThe webinar is organized by the International Consortium on Bioeconomy Research (ICABR).\nParticipation in the webinar is free and no registration is required. \nFor more information and registration\, please visit the website of the webinar.

SUMMARY:5th International Online Conference on New Business Models - online
DESCRIPTION:5th International Online Conference on New Business Models – online\n\nJuly 1 – 2\, 2020\, online\n\n\n\n5th International Online Conference on New Business Models – Sustainable. Circular. Inclusive. \nThe COVID19 pandemic has a great impact on us all; what we do\, how we live our lives\, what we organize. To assure continuity of the 5 International Conference on New Business Models\, we have gone fully on-line. We welcome you on July 1 & 2 2020 at a two-day fully digital organized event.\nIt is based on plenary sessions\, multiple technically supported conference rooms with a moderator and a chat function. You can also book a virtual lunch-table for eight\, meet new people via a digital hangout space et cetera. Stay home\, no travel-hassle\, reduce your CO2 impact and still join the community. Now that we have gone on-line\, there is room for everybody.\nDespite these radical changes the conference fee remained an all-time low due to support of the Dutch National organizations for fundamental (NWO) and applied (TNO) research. Do not hesitate and join us. No longer in Nijmegen at the Radboud University but in a ‘virtual’ conference location. This a unique experience to many\, if not all of us. But as the saying goes: “We have never tried this before\, so we think we should be able to organize this”. \n

SUMMARY:Webinar on innovative approaches to green public procurement - online
DESCRIPTION:Webinar on innovative approaches to green public procurement – online\n\nJune 25\, 2020\, online\n\n\n\nWebinar on innovative approaches to green public procurement\nRegional authorities are well-placed to deploy demand-side measures such as the Green Public Procurement (GPP) to contribute to the expansion of the market of sustainable goods and services. This is especially relevant having in mind that public procurement accounts for approximately 14% of European consumption. \nFor this reason\, the Policy Learning Platform is hosting a webinar on the topic of innovative approaches to green public procurement on 25 June 2020 from 14:00 to 15:30 PM CEST. \nThe new EU Circular Economy Action Plan\, released in March 2020\, recognises GPP as an instrument for boosting the sustainability aspect of products but acknowledges that GPP has a ‘limited impact due to the limitations of voluntary approaches.’ Therefore\, the European Commission will propose minimum mandatory GPP criteria and targets in sectoral legislation and phase in compulsory reporting to monitor the uptake of GPP. \nIn addition\, the Action Plan states that the Commission will continue to support capacity building with guidance\, training and dissemination of good practices and encouraging public buyers to take part in a ‘Public Buyers for Climate and Environment’ initiative\, which will facilitate exchanges among buyers committed to GPP implementation. \nThe webinar is of high relevance for local and regional policy makers\, having the objective to provide concrete examples of good practices that can be of inspiration to the Interreg Europe community. \nFor more information and registration\, please visit the website of this event.
