SUMMARY:Forum biobasierte Kunststoffe: Kurz- und Langzeitanwendungen - online
\nPlease note\, this event will be in German and no translation will be provided. \nFor more information\, please visit the website of this event.

Today\, grass as a resource remains underutilised. It is often left to decay after mowing and thus causes costs and lost benefits for individuals and society. \nAt the occasion of the EU Green Week 2020\, which aims to emphasise the contribution biodiversity can make to society and the economy\, the GO-GRASS project will shed light on this overlooked potential during the online event ‘Go for Grass: exploiting grassland potential in the EU Circular economy’\, that will take place on 22 October 2020. \nThis two-part online event\, taking place from 10.00 to 12.00 CET and from 14.00 to 16.00 CET\, will explore new business opportunities for rural areas arising from the exploitation of grassland and green fodder. \nWhile the first session will demonstrate a range of innovative and cost-effective processes and technologies to transform grass into valuable bio-based products\, the second session will afford stakeholders the opportunity to discuss various tools and resources that can foster the deployment of sustainable grassland management practices and circular business models across the EU. \nThe event will provide a chance for entrepreneurs\, policy makers\, rural networks and other European and local actors to discover a series of circular and sustainable grass-based business models with high replication potential. As such\, it will offer a platform for stakeholders across Europe to present and discuss examples of circular\, grass-based and integrated agro-food systems from different countries. \nFor more information\, please visit the website of this event.

SUMMARY:3rd World BioEconomy Forum - online
DESCRIPTION:3rd World BioEconomy Forum – online\n\nSeptember 10\, 2020\, online\n\n\n\n3rd World BioEconomy Forum \nThe 3rd World BioEconomy Forum will be streamed live from Ruka\, Finland 10th September 2020. \nThe World BioEconomy Forum is based on the idea that there needs to be a global platform for Circular Bioeconomy stakeholders to get together\, exchange views and come up with a joint agenda on this increasingly important topic. Jukka Kantola\, founder of the Forum\, realised with his partners a couple of years ago that the time is right to launch this new incentive and work started on the forming the first event which was held in September 2018. \nRight from the beginning\, Ruka\, a resort town in northern Finland\, along with the nearby city of Kuusamo\, have supported the idea of the Forum and have provided excellent facilities for the event. The Forum itself is held in a modern conference centre situated at the top of hill that overlooks pristine Finnish wilderness – the perfect setting for providing insightful dialogue between speakers and delegates from all over the world. \nFor more information\, please visit the website of this event.

SUMMARY:Q&A session: Let’s make Carbon Neutral Regions Happen - online
DESCRIPTION:Q&A session: Let’s make Carbon Neutral Regions Happen – online\n\nOctober 14\, 2020\, online\n\n\n\nQ&A session: Let’s make Carbon Neutral Regions Happen \nThanks to the European Green Deal\, the EU has once again set itself up as global leader to fight climate change and aims to become carbon neutral by 2050. Economic growth would be dissociated from the use of resources\, making the transition fair and inclusive for all. As a result\, a Multi-Energy System Integration must be set up. So\, what is the way forward for regions and cities in the energy transition? Which steps must be taken and how can the EU Green Deal support regional efforts towards fixed goals? What role could regions play in the locally-driven energy transition and how can EU funding (e.g. LIFE) help with this challenge? These are some of the questions that the ambitious projects PROSPECT2030 (Interreg Central Europe)\, E-Fix and C-Track 50 (H2020) aim to solve. \nFor more information\, please visit the website of this event.

SUMMARY:INTRA final conference: Efficient internationalisation policy across European regions - online
DESCRIPTION:INTRA final conference: Efficient internationalisation policy across European regions – online\n\nSeptember 29\, 2020\, online\n\n\n\nINTRA final conference: Efficient internationalisation policy across European regions \n The Internationalisation Conference is a joint effort of six European regions: East Slovenia\, Abruzzo in Italy\, Algarve in Portugal\, Extremadura in Spain\, South-East Bulgaria and West-Midlands in the United Kingdom that will demonstrate\, how internationalisation policy can be designed to overcome the barriers that SMEs are facing and fulfil their needs in their business expansion\, growth\, competitiveness and sustainability. \nThe INTRA (Interreg Europe) project reflects the need to enhance and exchange knowledge and good practices among the policymakers\, foremost the managing authorities\, involved in the Cohesion policy. In the three years of Exchange of Experience process\, the partners and their regional stakeholders developed Action plans that do contribute to the effectiveness of the internationalisation policy. All Action plans are outputs based on Interreg Europe programme that enabled us to analyse our regional needs\, scan other EU regions for possible solutions and propose a project/measure/programme dedicated to experiences\, knowledge\, or skills transfer between the regions. \nFor more information\, please visit the website of this event.

To provide you with an example\, DNA triggered crucial discoveries and deeper knowledge on genes\, proteins\, viruses\, bacteria and stem cells. \nBiotech entrepreneurs were able to translate this knowledge into applications for many sectors such as healthcare\, agriculture\, food\, energy\, water sanitation and biochemical processing\, all of which have changed the world for the better. \nBiotech associations are key in helping to maximize the potential of biotechnology. In Europe\, the National Associations Council\, hosted by EuropaBio\, represents 15 national biotech associations that together represent over 1\,800 small- and medium-sized biotech companies and organisations. \nFor more information and registration\, please visit the website of this event.

SUMMARY:Virtueller Science Espresso in der Mittagspause “Wie viel Ethik steckt in Bioökonomie?” - online
DESCRIPTION:Virtueller Science Espresso in der Mittagspause “Wie viel Ethik steckt in Bioökonomie?” \nPlease note\, this event will be in German and no translation will be provided. \nFor more information and registration\, please visit the website of the event.
