SUMMARY:XVI Congress of the European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE) - Prague\, Czech Republic
DESCRIPTION:XVI Congress of the European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE)\n\npostponed to July 20 – July 23\, 2021\, Prague\, Czech Republic\n\n\n\nRaising the Impact of Agricultural Economics: Multidisciplinarity\, Stakeholder Engagement and Novel Approaches \nThe food system faces the challenge of feeding a growing and increasingly prosperous population while respecting planetary boundaries and addressing multiple societal demands. In this context\, the expectations placed on scientists\, including agricultural economists\, by policy-makers\, research-funding bodies\, academic institutions\, the private sector and civil society are changing. Knowledge creation\, the provision of policy advice and formulation of general recommendations are no longer sufficient on their own. Instead\, the societal impact of the profession needs to be amplified by demonstrating and communicating effectively the outcomes of research. \nThe XVI EAAE Congress aims to foster discussion of those issues and stimulate interaction among scholars\, businesses\, policy makers and representatives from civil society\, which will eventually improve farming and life in Europe and beyond. \n

SUMMARY:2nd International Conference on Cellulose Fibres - online
DESCRIPTION:2nd International Conference on Cellulose Fibres\n\nFebruary 2 – February 3\, 2021\, online\n\n\n\n1st International Conference on Cellulose Fibres \nCellulose fibres are a success story within the textiles market with a cumulated annual growth rate (CAGR) of at least 10% over the last ten years. This makes them the fastest growing fibre group in the textile industry and also the largest investment sector in the bio-based economy worldwide. The high growth rates are driven by the demand for natural fibres (and bottlenecks in cotton)\, the microplastic problem and possible bans for plastic fibres. \nFrom 2 to 3 February 2021\, the unique conference focusing exclusively on cellulose fibres will take place online. \n

SUMMARY:WBA webinar 2: National experiences on feedstock mobilization\, policies and regulations - online
DESCRIPTION:WBA webinar 2: National experiences on feedstock mobilization\, policies and regulations – online\n\nJanuary 28\, 2021\, online\n\n\n\nWBA Webinar Series – Agricultural Residues \nWebinar 2: National experiences on feedstock mobilization\, policies and regulations \nThe World Bioenergy Association (WBA) and the project AgroBioHeat are organising this webinar about agricultural residues. \nAgriculture residues are one of the most abundantly available resource worldwide as millions of tons of husk\, straw etc. are produced globally which are either left to rot or burned on the fields. Efficient utilization of these residues to produce heat\, electricity and biofuels offer various advantages including replacing fossil fuel use\, reducing emissions\, and promoting local economic development. However\, various technological\, social and policy challenges hinder the progress of the sector. \nFollowing the previous webinar on latest technological developments\, WBA and the AgroBioHeat project are pleased to invite you all to an upcoming webinar on national experiences related to feedstock\, policies and regulations for development of the agriculture residues to energy sector. The session will include presentations from representatives of national associations of Spain\, Denmark\, Ukraine\, India\, Brazil etc. on the latest developments in feedstock\, technologies\, policies and regulations for promoting the use of agricultural residues for energy. \nFor more information and registration\, please visit the website of this event.

SUMMARY:European Bioplastics Conference - online
DESCRIPTION:European Bioplastics Conference – online\n\nNovember 30 – December 3\, 2020\, online\n\n\n\nEuropean Bioplastics Conference \nThe European Bioplastics Conference is the leading business and discussion forum in Europe for the global bioplastics sector. The size and diversity of the delegation – more than 400 attendees in 2019 – has been growing in recent years\, and this trend is set to continue as the event embraces the inclusion of political and other non-private sector actors. With more and more brands and manufacturers embracing the potential of bioplastics\, and with policy makers stepping up their efforts to creating frameworks that benefit the growth of sustainable bio-industries\, this is the time to put bioplastics on top of the agenda of a bio-based circular economy in Europe and beyond. \nFor more information and registration\, please visit the website of the event. \n
